Transinfo is a key provider of educational support in the effective and intelligent use of data. In order to develop the capacity to fully self-evaluate and improve, data should be utilised to facilitate staff access and understanding.
Schools that have accessed our services include Bangor Academy, Glenlola Collegiate and Wallace High School. We are currently working with a number of Area Learning Communities analysing district level data.
Transinfo data services include:
- high quality staff CPD on the effective use of data
- analysis and visual representation of data
- design of unique visual data packs
- defining school value added measures
- standardised test analysis and advice
- guidance in data use for school improvement
Primary school, standardised data booklets can now be commissioned from Transinfo to make pupil progress become visual and readily accessible to your staff. For an example of the type of booklet we can produce, visit our Primary page here.
The 2016/17 data sets for GCSE and A Level performance have been released by the Department of Education (January 2018). Individual school performance is detailed here.
Transinfo has released a report detailing Northern Ireland's performance in PISA 2015 - check out the Post Primary page.
We offer an innovative approach to the effective use of data in schools and the wider education system. Data is a key aspect in the ability of an organisation to describe its’ context and evolution - its’ own unique and intricate biography. Too often this complexity is lost in simplistic observations driven by counterproductive accountability measures.
Transinfo was established by Mark Hewitt to enable schools to voice their own story. Mark was a post-primary teacher of Mathematics, Computer Studies and ICT before working at the Belfast Education and Library Board and then the Education Authority for Northern Ireland where he was an adviser in Mathematics. He supported schools and teachers in the effective use of data and innovative approaches to Mathematics. His CV/resume is available here.
